Whip-It UP Wednesdays!

Blah-blah-blah!!!

Yeah, that's how my week has been. Sick kids, sick me . . . you know the vicious cycle.

The good news is that despite everything, I've managed over 1K on my MS in the last two days!

Wah-Hoo!!!

Melanie has firmed up her resolved and is bent on catching a killer. I'll be visiting with Bradford later today. There is a very important message he needs to intercept, so here's hoping he follows the crumbs I've left him.

On the contest front, let's just say my scores were as far and wide as the ocean. *le sigh* I think I'm going to be on a contest moratorium for awhile. I have designs on entering the KOD Contest in March, but that's not set in stone. With the plot changes I've incorporated, I may have tied up some of the troublesome spots.

This topic brings to mind a blog post by a fellow newbie, Susan R. Mills. I've been swinging by her blog and scoping out what she has to say. Yesterday, her post was on moving forward and knowing when to stop reworking. I found her words highly motivating and very comforting when I got my judging sheets earlier this morning.

For now, I've tabled any rewriting on my first chapter. I'm focusing on forward progress. Back-peddling only works for politicians and circus clowns!! So, I'm gonna put away my unicycle, red nose, and get to cracking that WIP!!

I just wrote a really long comment and Blogger ate it. :(

Short story long, I think you're right to keep moving forward, Sarah. I bet by the time you type "The End" you'll have a much clearer sense for what your beginning needs to be. Good luck! :)

Oh, poo-poo on blogger! I would have loved to see what you had written. I'm telling you, blogger is run by trolls. lol

That's the feeling I'm getting, Cari. I'm just stick to death of trying to work that chapter. lol That's it. I'm stashing it away like a bad boyfriend. lol

It's so good that you even got lots of words written in the middle of sickness. That, to me is a feat.

You are right to look forward. Looking back may keep you stuck. So forward march we go!

Keep up the good work, now I'm off to go check out the blog you mentioned in your post. Need some motivation on the back peddling thing. You'll know why when you read my latest blog.
